Beko backs British Business Embassy during London 2012 Olympic Games

Story

Beko, one of the UK’s major suppliers of domestic appliances, is actively demonstrating its commitment to developing British business.

Throughout the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the company is sponsoring the Terrace Pavilion at the British Business Embassy.

A global initiative developed by UK Trade & Investment, the Embassy has been set up to generate billions of pounds worth of investment as part of the country’s Olympic business legacy. Located at London’s prestigious Lancaster House, the British Business Embassy will remain open until the end of the Paralympics in early September, welcoming thousands of the world’s highly influential business, financial and political leaders.

Showcasing the best that Britain has to offer across various industries, the British Business Embassy is supported by some of the biggest names in global business. Through its sponsorship, Beko is presenting its corporate credentials, joining the likes of global brands such as Apple, Rolls Royce, Shell, Vodafone, Warner Brothers and Jaguar Land Rover, to name just a few of the other supporting organisations.

Levent Çakiroglu, President of KoÇ Holding Consumer Durables Group and CEO of Beko PLC’s parent company ArÇelik A.S., attended the opening Global Investment Conference at The Embassy. A series of 17 high-growth sector and country days with thousands of prominent UK and international businesses registered to attend are to follow.

Ragip Balcioglu, Managing Director of Beko PLC, announcing the sponsorship said: “As a UK-based company, Beko is proud to be supporting the Government’s Olympic trade and investment initiative. This activity is part of the company’s commitment to work closely with the British Government to increase trade and investment ties between the UK and Turkey.

“This sponsorship comes at a time when the Beko brand in the UK continues to go from strength to strength. We feel very honoured that Beko has been accepted by British consumers and become one of the leading white goods brands as a result. We are now the market leaders in washing machine, refrigeration and freestanding cooker categories and we take great pride in the UK awards we have received for innovation, quality and distribution.”
