New RO Water Purifier For Humidifiers
Story
Condair is launching the Condair RO-E reverse osmosis water purifier, which has been specifically designed for use with humidifiers. The Condair RO-E will reduce the service requirements of all humidifiers and improve humidity control when used with steam humidifiers.
The main service requirement of any humidifier is associated to managing the limescale that is left behind when the unit either boils, evaporates or sprays water into the air. The Condair RO-E removes the minerals from the supply water before they are introduced to the humidifier, thus significantly reducing residual limescale following humidification.
In steam humidifiers, this also improves humidity control, as the boiling chamber does not need to run dilution cycles to control mineral levels, and therefore water temperature and steam output is much more consistent.

As the Condair RO-E has been designed specifically for use with humidifiers, the range will deliver water with the ideal level of minerals for the type of application. Steam humidifiers benefit from water that is around 95-98% mineral-free. This quality provides a long service lifetime on the water filter membrane, optimal water consumption, and a significant reduction in the service requirements of the humidifier. The Condair RO-E+ model for spray humidifiers, will deliver 99% mineral-free water. Very pure water results in dust-free spray humidification, with utmost hygiene control and mitigates the risk of spray nozzle blockages due to mineral build-up.
The Condair RO-E comes with an optional touch-screen controller that can be mounted directly on top of the unit or located remotely. It offers intuitive control over all operations, as well as information on operational history. When used with any Condair humidifier that has the latest control interface, all functions of RO-E can be managed directly from the humidifier’s control panel.
Outputs across the range start at 40 litres per hour of product water on the smallest unit and go up to 300 litres per hour on the largest. With models up to 100 litres per hour, an internal 25-litre expansion vessel satisfies instant demand for pure water, whilst the larger models come with a 140-litre external water tank. Recovery rates are 50% with hard water and 70% with soft water.
The Condair Group is the world’s leading specialist in humidity control and evaporative cooling, with energy efficient, hygienic and innovative technologies for commercial, industrial and heritage applications. Condair is represented in the UK by Condair Ltd, which offers system design, manufacture, supply, installation, commissioning, maintenance and spares. Weatherite & Condair – A Cool Partnership
Story
When Weatherite needed to develop an innovative cooling solution that didn’t rely on man-made refrigerants, it turned to Condair’s adiabatic cooling expertise. The partnership resulted in Weatherite’s innovative AdTec-D direct cooling system, which is now a highly proven free air-cooling unit, used by leading telecoms and data centre clients.
Andy Lewis, General Manager for Data Centres at Weatherite, commented, “Incorporating Condair’s adiabatic cooling into our AdTec-D unit has saved 80% of power per unit, compared to equivalent refrigerant-based systems. Condair’s flexibility and engineering helped us massively for adapting and producing products specific to the client’s needs. This allowed us to innovate and really deliver what the client was after.
“A key benefit of working with Condair is their reliability and in not viewing them as merely a supplier, but as a partner, capable of supporting our product from the design stages through to on-site commissioning. I would definitely recommend Condair because of the quality of product, the service that they offer, and also because of the innovation that they offer for this sector.” Andy concluded.

Weatherite’s AdTec-D can offer 15-80kW of sensible cooling per unit, typically operates with an energy efficiency ratio greater than 15, and is an ideal retrofit solution for DC or telecoms operations looking to take advantage of free-air cooling. It can operate in free-air cooling only mode when the outdoor conditions allow or utilise adiabatic cooling to boost performance when needed. Even on the UK’s hottest ever recorded day, the AdTec-D successfully maintained the required indoor conditions for a leading UK telecoms provider, without any additional compressor-driven cooling.
Condair offers an extensive portfolio of humidification, dehumidification and evaporative cooling systems, including evaporative media supply for free-air, hybrid or liquid cooling systems. It’s ability to provide customer specific solutions with advanced engineering support make it an ideal partner for any OEM or HVAC manufacturer looking to develop innovative cooling or humidity control systems. New Condair Podcast On Cleanroom Humidity
Story
Humidity control specialist, Condair, has released a new podcast on how to control humidity in cleanrooms. In this 10-minute interview, Dave Marshall-George, Sales Director at Condair, explains how to manage air humidity in tightly controlled manufacturing or research environments.

Dave comments, “Cleanrooms are used in a huge variety of industries and are classified by the level of particulate matter that is permissible in the air. Alongside air purity, humidity can often have a dramatic impact on the success of any cleanroom operation. Humidity maybe controlled to combat static, eliminate moisture losses from sensitive materials, and prevent or encourage a reaction in a specific substance.
“However, providing the accurate humidity control needed for these sensitive environments can be a challenge. This short podcast gives a comprehensive overview, is ideal for anyone who is managing or designing cleanrooms and covers both humidification and dehumidification.” Dave concludes.
The podcast is available on www.condair.co.uk/podcast.

Stelrad Joins Future Homes Hub
Story
The Future Homes Hub was established by the homebuilding industry and the Department for Levelling Up, Homes and Communities, just over two years ago as the central mechanism to guide the sector through the roadmap for change. A core purpose of the Hub is also to help provide central capacity to support SMEs through this period of change.

“The Hub’s detailed programme of work, reflects the sustainability priorities of the sector. These currently include the Future Homes Standard and wider changes to building regulations, embodied and whole life carbon, biodiversity net gain and nature, water efficiency and SUDS and sustainability in planning. In each of these areas we are helping to determine the long-term roadmap, positively shape the policy agenda and are developing and sharing information on the technical solutions and specifications. Given that our suppliers have a critical role in driving the innovation necessary to deliver on these changes it is imperative that we work together.”
Stelrad’s Finance Director Jamie Foulstone says: “I feel that it is imperative that we as a business have an input to this organisation and contribute to it and to the aims it has as we head towards net zero by 2050. It is far better to operate from within these organisations and know our voice will be heard by the new build sector than to sit on the outside and hope our voice will be heard if we shout loudly enough. Membership of this Hub will enable us to work in partnership on the core priorities, gain access to shared information on the Hub’s platform and gain recognition as a partner and access to newsletters, webinars and events where we can make a valid contribution. We will be attending the second annual conference on 4th December this year at the QEII Conference Centre in London.”
