Story

The Daikin Emura designer room air conditioner has been awarded an honourable mention by a jury of experts in the International Red Dot 2010 Product Design Award competition in which 4,252 products from 57 countries competed for this year’s awards. The Red Dot competition, organised by the Red Dot Institute for Advanced Design Studies, dates from 1955 and is the most renowned design competition worldwide, its winning entries being recognised for their excellent design, innovative approach and proven quality.

Subtle design and absolute quality

Daikin Emura is an all in one room comfort system that combines premium Daikin quality with top European design. The elegant unit is available in sand blasted aluminium or white plastic finish that blends harmoniously with any interior and comes with an easy to operate designer remote controller. Its unique design was itself the result of a design competition, involving leading design houses in Europe. Underlying the subtle yet sleek design, lies advanced Daikin technology, resulting in a residential split heat pump system that heats, cools, ventilates and dehumidifies and incorporates advanced features such as an intelligent eye that optimises system performance and comfort to room occupation levels. The outcome is extremely high energy efficiency, absolute room comfort in a package that adds refinement and sophistication to any interior.

Meticulous attention to quality and detail

When evaluating Red Dot award candidates, the design experts award honourable mentions to those products that distinguish themselves with particularly successful design details. Daikin Emura’s success reflects Daikin’s meticulous attention to quality and detail.

The Red Dot 2010 Product Design Awards will be presented on 5 July 2010 in Essen, Germany and winners are entitled to display their winning product for a full year at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, the largest permanent exhibition of contemporary design in the world. Winners are also entitled to use the renowned Red Dot Award as a mark of quality in their promotional materials.
