Elegance Makes its Debut

Story

Polypipe adds elegance rainwater system to its portfolio of above and below ground waste and drainage products

Leading rainwater system manufacturer Polypipe has added a new, stylish range of guttering and downpipe products to its extensive range of above and below ground waste and drainage products.

‘Elegance’ offers a decorative effect that combines the look of a traditional cast-iron system with all of the product and installation benefits of using PVC-U as the manufacturing material.

‘Elegance’ is a lightweight, low maintenance product suitable for new build and renovation projects – in particular in conservation areas or in areas where older style homes predominate. And whilst it looks great, for installers, the benefits of ‘Elegance’ are many.

It’s easy to store and handle and quick to assemble and install – reducing installation costs and making it an attractive option for the end customer. It’s supplied ready to fit without the need for painting or protective coatings and Polypipe’s unique lugged brackets ensure a secure fit whilst remaining compact and unobtrusive in design and their decorative hopper has been designed to replicate the look of heritage cast iron systems.

The new Polypipe ‘Elegance’ range is available from a wide ranging network of plumbing and builders merchants across the UK.

Elegance is the latest addition to a wide range of traditional PVCu rainwater systems available from Polypipe Building products that currently include half round, square section, Polyflow Deep Capacity gutter and Ogee Extra and Sovereign High Capacity gutter systems options – most available in grey, black, brown or white.

In addition Polypipe has just launched a new barrier pipe solution designed to ensure the safe delivery of drinking water through redeveloped sites that may have been contaminated by previous industrial and commercial use. It’s available now from merchants across the UK.

Polyguard protects drinking water against a wide range of potential contaminants including organic, inorganic, corrosive and toxic elements offering all the benefits that come with a plastic pipe system – in particular its light weight and flexibility –in this case coupled with the protective, impenetrable aluminium barrier that runs the fill length of the pipe. It offers a cost effective, time saving alternative to traditional materials – copper in the main – which is prone to damage on site along with the increasingly valuable benefit that it offers increased on site resistance to damage and theft, from a robust product with no scrap value. It‘s the ideal response for private and social housing developers, building new homes on brownfield sites across the UK.

Manufactured by Polypipe, the UK market leader for above and below ground drainage, plumbing and water management systems, the Polyguard system offers a comprehensive range of both pipe and brassware fittings providing a complete potable water supply solution. The fittings that are available as part of the system are made from DZR brass which are impenetrable to contamination –there is no need to cover the fittings or wrap joints.

Polyguard pipe is constructed from two layers of Polypipe’s proven polyethylene, adhered to a layer of aluminium. The inner layer of polyethylene carries the water whilst the outer layer provides protection for the aluminium layer form damage. Brown stripes on the outer layer ensure the pipework is easily identified on site.

“Polyguard is available in three pipe sizes – 25, 32 and 63mm,” says Product Manager Simon Green. “It offers the best potable water supply protection option available and can be ordered through merchants with other Polypipe purchases. It’s approved under regulation 31 of the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2000 and conforms to necessary standards.”
