SAINT-GOBAIN PAM UK ANNOUNCES UPDATES TO DRAINAGE COMPARISON WEBSITE

Story

Leading iron technology solutions provider, Saint-Gobain PAM UK, has announced a series of updates and additions to its dedicated microsite which gives visitors the chance to compare the features and benefits of cast iron and its push-fit drainage system ‘EEZI-FIT’ against some other materials.

The site at www.eezi-compare.com compares three main materials used in above ground drainage – cast iron, HDPE and stainless steel – in categories such as fire safety and acoustic performance to assist installers and specifiers with product selection.

Improvements include a new page that links to the Ensign interactive training module which combines a 2D schematic design with virtual assembly and installation advice in accordance with the BS EN 12056:2000 Code of practice, Building regulations Doc H and CIBSE Guide G, Public Health Engineering.

Site-wide changes include links to the YouTube channel and the building drainage network LinkedIn group and the comparison table now features added shortcut links to each of the column headers to enable quicker and easier access to all the relevant information.

In addition, the product information pages now all include a simplified contact route to the Saint-Gobain PAM UK team as well as detailed information on the EEZI-FIT range and the ‘Question of Time’ study.

The acoustics section demonstrates how cast iron performs sound-wise against the other materials, following a series of laboratory tests and comparisons with promoted results. Cast iron above ground systems when installed to the criteria as laid down in BS EN14366:2004 revealed these pipes offer up to 20 decibels reduction in noise when compared to alternative materials. Visitors to the site can therefore listen and hear for themselves the reality of 20 decibels of sound.

Additional information on this topic can be found under the acoustic section in the form of a dedicated White Paper which discusses the subject of structure-borne and airborne sound between rooms generated by the evacuation of waste water.

The site covers a wide range of topics relating to the selection of drainage products including fire resistance, acoustic performance, and ease of installation – all areas where comparisons have been made at independent laboratories, which have validated the benefits of cast iron systems over the alternatives.

Mike Rawlings of Saint-Gobain PAM UK commented: “We’ve had a very positive response to this site since we first launched EEZI-compare.com and all these new updates and features make this an extremely useful tool for those involved in above ground drainage product selection. We’re confident that it will continue to be a popular information source for installers and specifiers alike.

“Specification of pipes for above ground drainage systems continues to involve far more than just the initial purchase cost of the product. Expected longevity of the products in service life, as well as performance, safety and environmental impact, all have a growing influence on the decision making process.

www.eezi-compare.com provides a quick and easy source of information for anyone needing to understand the added value of cast iron EEZI-FIT in order to make an informed choice before specifying above ground drainage systems.”
