TAC launches flexible and affordable access control at IFSEC 2007

Story

Location ? Ashby-de-la-Zouch, July 2007. Security specialist TAC is set to launch an efficient and flexible new access controller at IFSEC in May. The Intelli-M PoE Integrated I/P Door Controller provides access control and alarm services with the key benefit of being powered through an Ethernet cable.

The small size and simple mounting positions makes the Intelli-M easy and affordable to install, while its ability to run autonomously reduces the risk of the controller being affected by wider system or component failure. Further, Intelli-M integrates seamlessly with TAC?s existing and extensive range of network video recorders.

Intelli-M is accompanied by Supervisor Plus software ? a fully scaleable management tool, suitable for small and large installations alike. It will control door locks and contacts and a card reader or keypad, and includes its own independent warning buzzer and infra-red tamper.

Matt Coulson, security specialist at TAC, said: ?The sheer flexibility and ease of use are the main benefits of the Intelli-M system ? we have crammed the features of physically much larger controllers into a small unit.

?The embedded web server, ethernet power source and ability to power other associated equipment means there can be savings on the costs of cabling and installation.?

TAC is exhibiting on stand 11063 in hall 6. Experts will be on hand to discuss any aspects of Intelli-M or any products in TAC?s security range.

Product facts and figures:

Power over Ethernet: This revolutionary technology allows users to plug Intelli-M?s eIDC into any existing Ethernet Network using standard CAT 5 or CAT 6 cable to take advantage of running power and data on a single cable for increased efficiency.

Powers Peripherals: Intelli-M?s eIDC delivers up to 12 VDC @ 1 A of power for all door hardware including lock and readers, reducing cabling costs and installation time.

Native IP Connectivity: There is no need for bridges or media connectors since IP technology is built into every eIDC unit. Additionally, every eIDC supports DHCP for automatic IP addressing. There is no need for dip switches or cumbersome system settings.

Embedded Web Server: Using the embedded Web server allows for easy ommissioning of the Intelli-M system. It also eliminates the need for software in stand-alone, single-door systems.

Peer-to-Peer Communications: Intelli-M?s eIDC operates in a true peer-to-peer environment, which allows the controllers to continue to communicate even if connection to a server is interrupted.
